Happy News!

Hey all,

So it turns out that Rich Man's War is doing awesome -- been at #1 in Kindle Military Sci-Fi repeatedly, with generally awesome reviews and a nice buzz. Thank you so much to everyone who picked up the book, and doubly so to anyone who left a review! They truly do make a difference, and I'm really grateful.

But in slightly awesomer news (yes, I called it that), my decision to put all of my profits from Poor Man's Fight (from RMW's release date of 8/22 through the end of August) to the Iraq & Afghanistan Veterans of America has already shown me a tally of over $5,000! That's far more money than I realistically expected. I can't tell you how good that feels...although I imagine I'll feel better once I've actually gotten that money from Amazon, Smashwords, etc. and I can write the check to the IAVA.

That's just about all for now--but once again, I found someone on DeviantArt whose style I love and who was open for commissions, and I thought, "You know who needs some attention? Alicia and Janeka." Here's the results. I think they look pretty good!

That artist, by the way, is Lelia on Deviant Art.

  1. $5000 in only a few days! I think you meant to write July instead of August for the RMW release date. Still, that is an impressive amount and I am glad to see you succeed. Share your story over at The Passive Voice sometime when they have a "I succeeded at self publishing" thread.

    Whats up next?

    1. No, it's from 7/22 through the end of August. It's still on for another six days from now. I'm not familiar with Passive Voice. I'll have to check it out. Thanks!

  2. Loved the new book! I know the next will be as good if not better. But how is Alex doing? I think he might be feeling lonely aside from all the lovely company he does have ofcoarse.

  4. Hey, really love both of your series! Just wanted to get it out there though, I really like Wade as a character with his background story. I just want to mention to not forget about the secondary characters like Wade when you progress the story. Not like the main characters aren't important, but there's room for a kick ass friend to add to the story. Some series I'm disappointed when minor characters who could have interesting stories themselves just end up disappearing. (worst case ever- Egan and Ulic from Sword of truth series by Terry Goodkind. Remember them, with all the hints of secret rites and rituals of the Lord's bodyguards that went nowhere? Probably not.) Anyways, keep up the great work! Looking forward to reading it all. Also the IAVA donations are amazing, this is exactly the kind of support our veterans deserve. Thanks for providing it when so many others don't.

    1. Ed, I really couldn't tell you. Book Three is very much on my mind, but thus far I haven't started writing just yet. (I'm hoping to get on that in the next couple days.)
